According to the current regulations of Vietnam Airlines (updated to 2026 and based on the piece concept, which applies to most international flights), free checked baggage allowance for international routes from the UK to Vietnam (e.g. London → Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh City, including connecting flights if applicable) is calculated by number of pieces and weight per piece.

The UK is classified under the Europe region (excluding Russia).

Standard Baggage Allowance for Flights Between Europe (Including the UK) and Vietnam

  • Business Class:
     2 free checked bags, up to 32 kg per piece
     (Highest allowance among all classes)
  • Premium Economy Class:
     2 free checked bags, up to 23 kg per piece
  • Economy Class:
     2 free checked bags, up to 23 kg per piece

⚠️ Important Note:

Some promotional or basic Economy fares may only include 1 piece of 23 kg or less, depending on the fare type. Please check your specific ticket conditions.

Important Additional Regulations

  • Maximum dimensions per piece:
     The total of length + width + height must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches).
     The absolute maximum weight per piece is 32 kg. Any bag exceeding this limit will incur additional charges or may be refused.
  • Children:
    • Children (2–12 years old): Generally entitled to the same baggage allowance as adults
    • Infants: Usually allowed 1 piece up to 10 kg, or subject to specific airline regulations
  • Connecting flights with other airlines (codeshare or SkyTeam alliance):
     Baggage rules may vary based on the Most Significant Carrier (MSC) or the operating airline of the first international segment.
